we make things
we take ideas, draft them, and turn them into products. these products are manufactured, packaged and shipped.
we make rapid prototypes and samples, tweak CAD models and investigate ranges of durometer. sometimes we explore different brushed stainless steel finishes and we appreciate the nuances of opacity and light diffusion. we demand safety reports. we find craftsmanship in custom fabrication and mass manufacturing, and understand the benefits of production on demand.
we know the advantage of being able to plug-n-play products into Fulfillment By Amazon and respect the boundaries of time, space and budget. we believe creative is at its best when its confined. we also believe in positive social and ecological impact.
a lot goes into the designing, manufacturing and delivery of things, like all things good.

tactile memetics
when a duckling imprints onto it’s mother, or something else, like a goat, a dog, or a boot, it’s world view experience is forever melded with that first object it first encounters. That’s not we want to do but we can have a similar impact.
the experiential value of an object can be increased if it’s a product of tactile memetics. if representative of shared contemporary cultural zeitgeists, an object becomes a collectible and they also get photographed, facebooked, tweeted, and instagrammed.

social mnemonics
great objects become trigger references to great memories.
experiences, memories and moments can be associated with iconic objects. memorable instances get permanently woven into the perception of that object. if an object is interesting and enjoyed, it will be passed around, shared and gifted. Inherently social, these objects create quality, enjoyable human-world moments for groups of people.
memorable objects can trigger recollections of past experiences and elicit similar new ones. these associations increase an object’s inherent value.

innovation iconics
knowledge of product life-cycles and supply chains, and the motivation to use new tools and technology to improve every step will increase the likelihood that an object will be iconic
here’s an example: if we can figure out ways to make things quickly and deliver them faster while finding efficiencies in the process, we can allocate more time and effort to creating and innovating product. we can also make products more affordable so more people can enjoy them.
the way things are done can always be improved and this generally means a product will be better and more affordable. creativity doesn’t only apply to the experience of interacting with an object, it needs to apply how the object is made and other steps in its life-cycle.
you have to ask yourself. should a product end-up in a landfill or should it get encased in glass and preserved, or up-cycled into something new? the more an object represents innovation and human creativity, the more it becomes iconic and important to us.
